The gap between Milan's lines 🧠

Watching Milan against Lecce, the first thing I noticed was the space between Milan's midfield and defence when they lost the ball. Lecce could not use it, but the lane was there.

Milan's 3-4-2-1 had Rabiot and Modric in the middle. When Pulisic and Saelemaekers pushed high, the two central midfielders were left alone. One pass into that zone and Lecce had a free run at the back three.

Amorim's change after the break helped. Moreira came on and stayed closer to the midfield line. The gap closed. Lecce stopped finding that entry pass.

Look at the space between the lines, not the ball.
