The space between the lines

Watch the first ten minutes without looking at the ball. Pick a full-back. Watch where he stands when his team has possession. Watch where he goes when they lose it.

That distance tells you more than any highlight. If the full-back is too high and the winger doesn't track, the space behind him is open all afternoon. The opposition will find it. Not because they are better. Because the space is there.

The same applies to betting. A selection without a clear read on shape and space is not a complete bet. The price must cover the risk. If the full-back leaves space and the price ignores it, you adjust or you pass.
