The passing lane that disappeared

Watch the first ten minutes without following the ball. Look at the distance between the defensive line and midfield. When that gap grows beyond fifteen metres, the opposition's playmaker finds space to turn. That is where chances begin.

A full-back who pushes too high without cover leaves a channel behind him. The winger knows it. The opposition coach has planned for it. You can see it before the pass is played. The ball is just the confirmation.

Same applies to betting. The selection is the ball. The price and the stake are the shape around it. A bet at 1.40 with a unit that is too large is a full-back caught upfield. It might survive once. Over a season, it gets exposed.

Give the match ten minutes. Look at the space, not the highlight.
