Watch the first ten minutes before you place

The opening minutes tell you whether your pre-match read holds. I have watched sides that looked organized on paper leave gaps between defence and midfield inside five minutes. That space does not repair itself.

Give the match ten minutes. Watch where the full-backs stand when the opposition has the ball. Watch which passing lane disappears and which one stays open. If the shape matches your read, the price might still be there. If it does not, you have saved your stake.

A selection without observing the actual setup is a guess dressed as analysis. The first ten minutes are free information. Use them.

Keep the stake ordinary until you see the shape with your own eyes.

Question: What structural detail do you check first when the whistle blows?
